As of 1/1/02 Rosewood Pointe no longer accepts pets of any kind.
Are the units handicap accessible ?
Generally no. Although there are a couple of cottages, and the Kiwi House which would generally accommodate a standard sized wheelchair. There are some restrictions, so please call to confirm. The Retreat House does not offer handicap accessible bathrooms or bedrooms.
Are the units air-conditioned ?
All cottages have window A/C units. The Kiwi House, the Waikato House and the Mirandy Cottage have central air and the Retreat House has three window units on the 2nd and third floors as well as a large window unit on the main floor. All units have lots of fans!
Can I dock my boat at Rosewood Pointe?
Rosewood Pointe offers two, large commercial docks for boat mooring and fishing. Docks can accommodate boats up to 40' in length.
Fishing is always great from the docks. White Bass are hitting on crawlers and minnows. Large numbers of sheephead, catfish, perch, blugills, carp and dogfish are also being taken on crawlers from the docks. At times, walleye, pike and small mouth bass are taken with lures or crawlers.
Is there a playground?
There are two sets of playground equipment on either side of the beach.
Are there phones in the cottages?
No. Due to considerable abuse and misuse, phone service has been disconnected from all the cottages and homes. Please bring a cell phone for emergencies. There is an office phone available for emergencies. The office is available 24/7 and it has high speed Internet access available for guests.
What should I bring?
** Charcoal and charcoal lighter (unless you are in the Kiwi House or Waikato cottage, they have gas grills)
** Lawn chairs, Outdoor apparel, Beach towels, Fishing gear
** Coffee (all units have a coffee maker, microwave, stove, and refrigerator)
** Toilet paper (large initial supply is included)
** CELL PHONE! The office will NOT accept messages! Please make sure that all relatives and family members have a cell phone number to reach you during your stay at the Pointe. Messages to family members will not be relayed unless an extreme emergency.
** Laptop computer. Rosewood Pointe provides free wifi Internet access.
What is the cancellation policy?
Deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE unless cancellation notice is received 90 days prior to the reservation. 90 daysand $250 cancellation fee for weddings. Credit card fees will be deducted from the deposit refund.
Do you provide cribs, strollers or high chairs?
Rosewood Pointe does not offer cribs, strollers or high chairs for use by our guests. Our insurance carrier will not provide us with liability insurance coverage if we offer baby equipment for use by our guests. Sorry! There is a Walmat a couple miles down the road if you need to purchase any equipment.
Office hours
Rosewood Pointe does not maintain an office on the property. Everything is Self check-in and check-out - make sure you bring a copy of the property map and / or copies of people to call in the event you need assistance. 612-501-2548 (office).
Check-in & Check-out Policies
Check-in time is 4:00pm. Check-out time is 10:30am. It is extremely important that all guests have vacated by 10:30am, unless special arrangements are made at the time of the reservation. The cleaning crews need time to clean the units before the next batch of guests arrive.
